newborn.

Woke up this morning to 'squeak squeak' and a loud yell as the 3rd kitten was born.  I looked under my bed and discovered these littles.  Still melting.

sweet.

A few sweet moments with food and old friends during my week off.  The trip went so well there are hardly words.

autumn.

The leaves are turning everywhere and autumn has never been more beautiful than in Vermont.  With the weather getting crisp I've cranked up the levels of cozy around my place - homemade cinnamon oatmeals and outings to get hot apple cider and orange scones.  I can't wait until it's too cold for me to do anything but bake pies and drink warm things.

Also, I've got a week off of schools so I'm already savoring my free time - currently writing this post with a woodstove to my left and a dog to my right.  Nothing like kicking off a road trip with a stop at the grandmother's house.

the end of a week.

Saturday night was a potluck and games at Leonore's!  It is pretty much impossible to leave an event where there is delicious food and so much laughter and not feel completely content (and so full of soup).

And Sunday Kyle and lounged in the 55 degree weather (?!) at India Point Park.  There was a telling of folktales, tree climbing, impressing/scaring children, and I even tried slacklining! I hope my return to school tomorrow doesn't interfere with all of this good.
