alexander house.

My trip really started to pick up when I stayed in Charlottesville, VA.  I've always heard this area was unique and once I arrived at the Alexander House I saw that the rumors were true.  The hostel had a sweet black lab, a diverse, friendly group of people sleeping around me, and an accomodating host.  I wandered around the city and was directed to a woman's arm wrestling competition where ladies from the community dressed up in silly costumes and arm-wrestled to live music and support of many sequin-covered back-up dancers.  It's nice to find locations where the main mission seems to be: hey, just have fun.

Also, I'm finally back in Providence.  Moving around so much has given me a new appreciation for this place.

film.

Film's what I'm spending all my money on these days.  I love the intimate feel of the photos, the suspense in waiting to get them developed, and really taking care to make sure each shot will be worth the 75 cents+ that I'm paying.  So, here are a few more from my 1st roll on the trip south.  

I'm on my way back north now.  This trip held ups and downs, but ultimately it gave me exactly what I wanted. My mind is clear and I'm feelin' pretty ready to clean up and begin getting ready for the next chapter. *cliffhanger*

jefferson pools.

A natural hot spring with 200 year old homesteads them.  It was hidden in small town - Warm Springs, Virginia.  Swimsuits were optional and I became a child again in awe at the bubbles escaping from under the rocks and that the water could be THAT warm, naturally.  It was really all I needed.
