victoria breakfast.

I would be woken up early, early in the morn, and bike over with Alex, having the silly, delirious conversations that can only happen when you've just woken up.  We would wind through different neighborhoods and across bridges where the Cascade mountains spread on the other side of the water, and then up a decent hill that made being met with coffee and breakfast even more appreciated.

Sophie is a breakfast extraordinaire.  While I was busy sleeping she would be up, preparing huevos rancheros, sweet potato hashbrowns, mango salsa, baked oatmeal with warm berries, and the list goes.

It was amazing to come over for breakfast and immediately feel like I was home, even though I was so far away.  And, after eating food from the road these last few days, I've already begun to miss sharing meals with these sweet people.

morning

An easy recipe for making apple cinnamon oatmeal in the morning, and generally how mornings go in my place (although a bit more messy).  This is my first attempt at making a video using my dslr, so I hope you like it!

breakfast.

I'm pretty sure that it's scientifically proven somewhere that if you eat a nice breakfast in the morning your day goes better.

**the first photo is outside of this little place called the coffee corner right down the street and it's the sweetest diner with the best food and real maple syrup and fresh squeezed orange juice.  I've already been there four times since moving here.

back in asheville!

For the last 3 days I've been in my old home: asheville, nc.  So, I've been doing my best revisit all the old favorite places.
i-ii. Melissa and I's old sunday morning favorite, the Corner Kitchen! We brought Leah along too and we all had the most amazing brunch.  Man, it is so great being back in the land of sweet tea.
iii.  A chocolate lounge date with Melissa - are you seeing that chocolate cake?!
iv. The Goodwill outlet! A place where you rummage through bins to find the tack and best things and everything is only 1.10 a pound!?  It is probably the only place you can find a dress with cows all over it and medical scrubs in the same place. I missed it so much.
v. Chai and hot chocolate at a cool little house coffee shop in west asheville.
vi. Fancy taiwanese tea at Matthew's!
vii. Mango eatin' and just messing around on my old college campus.
viii.  Indian food with all the best people.
It's been so nice to be back.
